Ghost Run

Ghost Run is a lantern installation featuring salmon swimming upstream, and a Kermode, or "Spirit” Bear.
Ghost Run is a term I first read in a publication by the Raincoast Conservation Society, which refers to a stream that formerly supported a Salmon Run.
The lanterns appear to float over the surface of the land, and act as a meditation on how the streams once flowed through the landscape.

The installation was first presented by the Wild Salmon Guild at the Esquimalt Lantern Festival in May, 2003 and has since appeared at numerous water and stream related celebrations.

The spirit bear was made by Kama Ringwood.
